Richard began his career in his native Wales, where he won the Victor Ludorum Award at the "Festival of Gwent". Becoming the youngest ever vocalist ever to have this prestigious award, Richard was then asked to join the BBC Welsh Chorus where he performed various choral works, televised both nationally and internationally.
After studying classical music at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, Richard to branch out into the world of musical theatre. He played Freddie in the musical "My Fair Lady", "Doody" in Grease and then went on to play Migaldi in Lord Lloyds - Webber's Musical "Evita" on a grueling six-month tour.
At this time he appeared on Sky TV's "Star Search" winning the finals, thus opening many doors for his future career, both as an actor and singer. As a result of this Richard was asked to play the part of Richie Valens before thousands in the smash-hit musical "Buddy".
Since then Richard has performed shows around the world and felt very honoured when asked to preform in front of the Royal Family at the London Palladium Theatre.
Recently Richard has finished his very own musical called "Stage to Screen" a magical journey through the music of the West End and Silver Screen which has been performed extensively throughout the UK. This concept was inspired by Richard's first ever CD recording "In the Spotlight", a collection of songs from contemporary films and shows. "Stage to Screen" is a progressive musical tribute to the Hollywood Musicals from the eearly days of Ivor Novello and Cole Porter, through to the contemporary styles of Kander and Ebb and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
As as actor Richard has appeared in several television dramas, plays and several acting work shows led by remowned coach Mary Hammond. Working as an actor and a singer Richard feels it is important to combine both skills in today's changing and demanding world of entertainment.
Hearing Richard sing is both entertaining and uplifting. He should be a household name such is his talent. If you ever have the chance to see him live - grab it!
